Getting started

NovelCraft Guide | From idea to reviewed chapter

A short path from a new idea to a reviewed manuscript.

1. Create an account and project

Sign up with Google or email. Email sign-in uses a one-time code before your account is created.

Choose a project language when you start a story. This controls future AI writing and analysis; it does not translate existing text.

2. Shape the story before drafting

Review the premise, setting, characters and chapter milestones before generating a detailed outline.

Approve the outline only when its direction is right for you. It becomes the context for later writing and analysis.

3. Write and manage chapters

The writing desk combines your chapter list, editor and AI assistant. Save after edits and mark a chapter ready only when you have reviewed it.

When asking AI to rewrite, select the exact section and read the proposed draft before applying it.

4. Keep a Story Bible

Store characters, relationships, events, objects and world rules inside each project.

Review suggested facts before adding them to canon. Your manuscript and canon decisions remain yours.

5. Analyze and export

Choose the checks you need, review findings by severity and decide what to change. Run the important scope again after edits.

Export individual chapters or the full manuscript from the export page.
